As the Myanmar military intensifies its efforts against anti-government guerrillas, the use of signal jammers has become one of its new tactics. According to Myanmar News reports, the military began instructing ground troops to use the equipment to prevent attacks by remotely controlled explosives. This measure reflects the military's response strategy in an ever-changing combat environment.
Use of jammer devices
Myanmar's military is actively deploying six types of electronic equipment to counter common launchers used by anti-government guerrillas, according to a confidential order. These devices include 315MHz handheld remote-controlled network jammers and portable multi-band radio frequency jammers. The order emphasizes that officers will be responsible for explaining how to use these signal jamming devices and detailing how enemy explosive devices work.

With the increased use of signal jammer blockers, the military has gradually reduced casualty rates in combat. Rebel forces reported heavy losses to the military in some vulnerable areas, forcing them to find new tactics to counter the effects of signal jamming. Guerrilla officers stationed in Chowk revealed that the military successfully thwarted an attempt to detonate a bomb during the Songkran festival. "Our explosive device was placed in the motorcycle, but it failed to detonate due to the jammer blocker, and ultimately we lost the explosive and the motorcycle," the official said.
An information officer for the anti-junta People's Defense Forces said that as the military increases its deployment of signal jammer devices, the resistance will have to adopt riskier tactics. New tactics include the use of battery-powered explosive devices that are detonated by soldiers hiding in nearby minefields. Although this method is not safe, it has become the only option under the threat of signal jammer blockers.
