India deploys anti-drone jammers to deal with border threats
The Indian Army expressed satisfaction with the test results of the newly deployed anti-drone signal jammers and deception systems, which effectively countered the drone smuggling threat from Pakistan. In recent years, Pakistani terrorist organizations have frequently used drones to transport drugs, explosives and weapons to the Jammu and Punjab regions of India, seriously threatening the security of the region. The Indian Army tested domestic anti-drone systems on the border and successfully prevented the intrusion of these drones. Especially during the past three months of testing, these anti-drone systems effectively interfered with multiple drones attempting to cross the border, greatly enhancing India's ability to combat cross-border smuggling in this sensitive area.
According to reports, a Chinese-made drone launched from Pakistan, loaded with drugs and explosives, was successfully shot down by Indian security forces in the Jammu region. Such drones usually have two control links, one connecting to GPS satellites and the other to communicate with Pakistani operators. The anti-drone signal jammers deployed by India mainly achieve interception by cutting off these two links. The deception system disrupts the drone's connection with GPS, making it disoriented, while the signal jammer device directly blocks the control link and forces the drone to crash.
Technical progress in the deployment of anti-drone systems
The successful deployment of anti-drone systems further demonstrates the technical progress of the Indian army in dealing with cross-border smuggling and terrorist activities by terrorist organizations. Since 2021, drone activities have increased significantly on the India-Pakistan border, especially in Punjab and Jammu. In the past year, the Indian military has discovered about 300 drones in these areas, a three-fold increase from the previous year.
In recent years, Pakistani terrorist organizations have adopted a new strategy of launching attacks on civilians through local terrorists, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, they also use drones to transport drugs and weapons to Punjab, trying to intensify separatist sentiment through economic gains. The Indian military plans to further expand the anti-drone system and equip it with armed drones, which can not only prevent drones from crossing the border, but also have the ability to fight back. The implementation of this plan will further enhance India’s border defense capabilities and provide a solid foundation for ensuring the security of the western front.
